Summary:

The generalized use of mobile devices (smartphones, tablets), combined with the emergence of a new generation of devices equipped with higher-precision sensors, and camera, has put novel augmented reality technologies within reach. One of these advances is to increase the reliability and accuracy of localization technologies. The goal of this thesis is to analyze, adapt, evaluate and improve algorithms from literature and other domains in order to enhance localization precision of handheld devices.
